Dare Devil Dachshund Contest

DAREDEVIL Dachshund PictureIf you know me, you know I like to have fun!  This cartoon dachshund contest is my way of  having fun with you on my web site. It's also another way I can give back, by awarding a packet of cool prizes to a dozen writers a year.

Think 'Where's Waldo?' with two cartoon miniature dachshunds:  Thalia, a 13 year old dachshund, Calypso, a 10 week old dachshund. Look for one dachshund. I like to have options.  :-)

On the last Wednesday of each month, I’ll place a cartoon dachshund on one of my web site pages. You find the Dare Devil Dachshund, e-mail me with the name of the page it’s on, and you will be entered in the monthly drawing. You could win my EDITS System Power Pack!

The EDITS System Power Pack includes:

1. Five Highlighters, Red Pen, and Case

2. Mini-Office Supplies Kit (stapler, tape, scissors, clips)

3. Sunflower Seeds

4. Yummy Tea

5. *Certificate for One Hour of Margie’s Deep Editing Brain

*The winner schedules a time for a Deep Edit Consult -- phone or Skype -- within two months. They send me fifteen pages as an e-mail attachment (Courier New, 12 pt., 1" margins).  I share my Deep Edit of those pages and respond to questions as time permits.

Here's the DareDevil Contest Scoop!

1. Monthly Contest

2. E-mail me with the name of the page where you find the DareDevil Dachshund.

3. Please label your e-mail:  DARE DEVIL DACHSHUND CONTEST.

4. I'll post the winner on the last Wednesday of each month.

Hmm -- the last Wednesday of the month happens to be the same day I  post my How-to Author Interview for that month.  It is also the same day my featured How-to Author responds to questions on my blog.  I love how those dates coincide. :-)

This months Dare Devil Dachshund Contest ends Tuesday, February 23rd.

I'll draw the winner's name on Wednesday, February 24th.

Maybe you'll be the winner!

I needed the talent of two experts to make this contest work:  Lisa Norman, my web site designer, and Dana Summers, a professional cartoonist.Lisa Norman's photo

I connected with Lisa Norman by bidding on a web site design she generously donated to Brenda Novak's Diabetes Auction in May, 2009.  I'm so lucky my bid won.  Lisa's talent shows through on every page of my web site  AND--Lisa plans to upgrade my web site in 2010. Her creativity is beyond limits. Lisa is a brilliant and cherished gem.

I thought I might have to go on Craig's List to find a cool professional cartoonist. You can find Photo of Dana Summers and Margieeveryithing on Craig's List, right?  Ha!  But I got lucky again. I met mega-talented cartoonist Dana Summers at the Florida Writer's Association conference in October. What are the odds I'd meet a cartoonist when I was looking for a cartoonist?

PLUS -- Lisa and Dana are both writers.

PLUS -- They both GET me. Our brains work in synch.

Again -- lucky for me.  Probably scary for them.  :-)

Please read about Lisa Norman and Dana Summers below. They are both as smart as they are good people.

The Buzz About Margie

Margie Lawson's workshop, Empowering Characters' Emotions, was just what I needed to infuse extra oomph into my WIP. It's amazing what a handful of highlighters and some out-of-the-box thinking can do.  Her exercises on the four levels of emotion not only helped my characters, but empowered me as well.”
