The Wonderful Winter View from Margie's Window

Looking Back at August and September

Life is grand!  Friends have been visiting me and I’ve been traveling making new friends.

Mid-August:  Here’s Mary Buckham, award-winning author and writing instructor extraordinaire, in the front seat of our little plane.  Two of her fun-loving adult ‘kids’ – Brittany and Tyler – in the back.  Visiting from Port Townsend, Washington, they enjoyed seeing Boulder and Denver from the air.
Early September:  I presented Empowering Characters’ Emotions to a packed room in Toronto.  Toronto RWA treated me like royalty.  Beautiful city. Beautiful people. See Lila next to me?   Lila DiPasqua is one of those beautiful people.
Mid-September:  The Colorado Gold Conference here in Denver is close to my heart.  My critique group friends are even closer.  Here we are at the conference celebrating writing career successes for Mario Acevedo and Jeanne Stein.  Left to right:  Jeff Shelby, Sandy Maren, Mario, Jeanne, me, and my fabulous husband and writing partner, Tom.
Joan Johnston, NYT bestseller confabs with CJ Lyons at a Colorado Gold party.  Maybe Joan’s giving CJ tips about promoting CJ’s upcoming book, LIFELINES.  These two are  amazing friends of mine, and two of the Colorado Gold Keynote speakers.

Late-September:  Off to Dallas to present ECE at the ACFW conference.  If you look closely at the group photo you’ll see James Scott Bell in a red shirt. It’s always validating  when  the keynote speaker attends your 6 hour master class – and looks attentive.  ;-)))

Here --  Myra Johnson, me, Janet Dean, and Angie Breidenbach are enjoying the ACFW Awards Banquet.  I knew Myra and Janet before ACFW – now I get to count Angie as a good buddy too.
Brandilyn Collins, a fabulous author, and her mother Mamma Ruth, an active and engaging 90 year old author, and I had a splendid dinner at the Grand Lux.
I can’t resist adding a picture of Brandilyn and Mamma Ruth sitting in a stretch Hummer.  We borrowed it for our photo opp.  Three gals having fun together in Dallas.

Looking Ahead to October and November:

 October 1 – 31:  Teaching DEEP EDITING on-line.  Always a blast!

October 4 – 6:  A 3-day fun-packed weekend in Omaha, presenting at the KOD Retreat.

October 28:  Connecting with Pikes Peak RWA friends when I present Defeat Self-Defeating Behaviors in Colorado Springs.  They’ll all learn how to boost their motivation and creativity.

November brings back-to-back weekends on the west coast:

November 3:  My first trip to Vancouver Island!  I’m presenting Empowering Characters’ Emotions in a full day master class.  Can’t wait!

November 10:  Ah – a weekend in San Francisco.  I’ll be presenting ECE in another high-energy, guaranteed-to-teach-writers-how-to-write-a-page-turner, master class.

Being an extrovert, I get energized when I present workshops to writers. I’m looking forward to a Fall loaded with energy!

I hope your Fall is loaded with energy too.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.
