Hello! If you attended RWA National in July – I missed you this year. With my son’s wedding in late July -- and presenting and vacationing in New Zealand and Australia for three weeks in August. – I had to pass on National. I wish I could have seen all my writing friends. You can count on seeing me at RWA National in Washington DC in 2009. I’ll be there.

Looking Back: January – June, 2008
Great people. Great groups. Great fun!
January 26: I had the honor of presenting Empowering Characters’ Emotions in Columbus, Ohio for Central Ohio Fiction Writers. Wow – What a dynamite group. Big hugs to Margs Crowley for coordinating the full day master class -- and for making me smile all weekend.
February 2: Colorado Author’s League, Denver, Colorado, invited me to present Jumpstart Your Motivation. Thanks to Leslie Petrovski, the mini-con was a success!
February 9: West Houston RWA packed the room with over 70 high-energy, committed-to-learning writers. The full day master class on Deep Editing had them digging deep applying psychological power to their work. A huge THANK YOU to JoAnn Banker and Sharon Mignerey for coordinating and hosting and sharing and caring. A winning weekend.
February 31, March 1:A weekend at the NOLA Stars Conference gave me an opportunity to present Empowering Characters’ Emotions for a full day and present the Luncheon Keynote. Enjoyed the people as much as the barbecue! Thanks to all, especially Beth Cornelison and Winnie Griggs. NOLA Stars writers work hard to put on an amazing conference.
March 28, 29: Central New York RWA, a stellar group in Syracuse, New York, hosted an overview of Deep Editing on Friday night followed by a full day master class on Empowering Characters’ Emotions on Saturday. A brain-stretching weekend. Jen Talty and Midge Johnson put out extra effort and worked some workshop coordination magic. Loved Jen Talty’s red chair hospitality!
April 12, 13: The promise of a power-packed weekend hosted by Tacoma Community College brought writers together for two full days to learn Empowering Characters’ Emotions on Saturday and Deep Editing on Sunday. Thank you to Terrel Hoffman for sharing her energy as coordinator. I was impressed with everything about this diverse group of writers, especially how much they pushed themselves to learn in those two back-to-back master classes.
May 3: Ah – A joyful return to Detroit. Two years ago Greater Detroit RWA flew me in to present ECE. This year, I presented Defeat Self-Defeating Behaviors. Now they all have the insight, tools, and motivation to slay their self-defeating dragons. Loved their commitment and camaraderie.
I get around! I enjoy touring, presenting, and teaching writers how to edit for psychological power.
