Interested in self-publishing, but aren’t sure where to start or how much it costs? Julie’s Author Mentoring Intensive is for you!

This 6-week workshop will focus on the specific and unique needs of each individual participant with a particular focus on three major aspects of an author’s career:

Your story: Julie will work with you on your first 3 chapters (30 pages maximum) with 2 rounds of edits over the course of six weeks. Specific topics include, but are not restricted to:

• Emotion
• Show VS tell
• Point of view
• Character development
• Conflict
• Where to start your story
• Hooking the reader on the first page

Social media management: learn to use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram effectively to promote your books and brand. Specific topics include, but are not restricted to:

• Setting up accounts, profiles, and pages
• Where and how to create professional looking graphics
• Developing content for all three social media platforms
• Getting organized so it doesn’t take over your life

Demystifying self-publishing: guidance on how to self-publish your stories to digital, print, and audio. Specific topics include, but are not restricted to:

• Editing
• Covers
• Easy file conversion (no matter your what computer you use)
• Publishing wide or just with Amazon
• Print options
• Audiobook production options
• Costs associated with each step

The workshop begins with a comprehensive needs assessment and ends with goals and deadlines defined for the rest of the year.

Julie will meet with each participant individually via Zoom twice during the six weeks. Once during week one and again closer to the end of the workshop.
