Changing your Writing World

Master Story Point of View

Recognize and write the POV that suits your story

Choose and use the right Point of View to showcase the emotional drama and intrigue in your story.

Industry professionals are quickly put off by head-hopping borne of poor POV mastery, or POV that doesn’t make the most of the story structure.

The voice of the character who is telling a story, shapes the way readers connect with the action and participants, and during this workshop you will unravel the sometimes-difficult choice about which POV to use and how to deliver it consistently.

Your POV delivery will be flawless in no time!

This workshop will give you the skills to:

  • Recognize the different POV types and applications.
  • Choose the POV that’s right for your story and author style.
  • Write in first person, third person limited/omniscient/deep.
  • Handle POV changes and multiple viewpoints with ease.
  • Understand the effect of POV on narrative distance and genre.

This workshop suits beginner to intermediate fiction writers who need guidance about which POV to use and how to deliver it correctly.

There will be plenty of examples, exercises to practice on, and opportunities to apply what you’ve learnt to your own work. This popular workshop combines colorful presentations with handouts to keep, personalized feedback and plenty of opportunities to apply what you’ve learnt to your own work.
