No matter where you are in the world or where you are in your writing career, there’s one thing all writers need: good writing buddies.

• We need someone to look over a passage and tell us if it is over-the-top or perfectly cadenced.
• We need Margie-ized writers to discuss if we need more EDITS System PINK and less YELLOW.
• We need a friend to cheer us up on the bad days and cheer for us on the good ones.

How does it work?

Sign up just like you would for any LWA class:

Put the free product in your cart and check out.

You only need to sign up once. The “class” doesn’t expire or go away.

Go to “account” in the top menu and then click “go to classroom”—you’ll find the coffeehouse listed there with your other classes.

You can go in any time and leave a message, respond to someone else, find a friend, share a sadness or a success.

A bit of nostalgia

When I was in college, we had a campus hangout. It was down in the basement of one of the buildings. There was food and drink available at any time day or night. Cozy tables filled the tastefully dimly lit space, and there was always someone there studying to commiserate with.

The LWA Coffeehouse is like that.

This is a hangout for writers.

We’ve pre-filled it with some cozy tables forums for you to hang out at.

Don’t see a space you like? There’s a suggestion box where you can help us make the space more friendly.

Haven’t taken any LWA Classes? That’s okay! You’re still welcome. Although you may be a little lost when we talk about having oceans of BLUE in our writing. Don’t worry. We’ve all been there. You’ll be fine!

In many of my classes, I’ve seen students forming friendships, only to be sad when the class is over.

This space is there for you.

In a time when we are often isolated, this virtual space is here to foster connections and friendships between writers all over the world.

Home of the LWA Write-ins!

Currently, we have one each week, and everyone is welcome. Jenn Windrow is our amazing host on Wednesday evenings. We chat for a few minutes, and then we go on mute and write! At the end, we have a time to re-connect and encourage each other.
